The Double-Breasted Dilemma: Striking the Perfect Balance of Structure and Style
In our last article, we discussed the differences between Single-Breasted Suits vs Double-Breasted Suits in terms of how they fit and where to wear them. This article will discuss the differences in the fit and style of double-breasted suits. While double-breasted suits follow the same rules regarding their fit, they are slightly different when compared to single-breasted suits.
What do we mean by Fit? The fit is how the suit is tailored and how it will fit your body.
What are the different types of fits that suits come in?
Here at Suits Outlets, we have three different types of fits. We have Regular Fit, Modern Fit, and Slim Fit.
- Regular Fit is also known as the Classic Fit, the shoulders are usually broader and the pant legs are more relaxed. They have a boxier silhouette with wider lapels.
- Modern Fit is slightly narrow in the shoulders and has more of a straight-leg pant. They have a tailored silhouette with modernized lapels.
- Slim Fit has narrow shoulders and a very tapered slim pant leg. They have a very close-fitting silhouette with lengthened lapels.
When choosing your suit, think about where you'll wear it and how it looks on your body. Double-breasted suits usually have a bolder look, while single-breasted suits are more up-to-date and versatile. If you choose a suit that fits you well you'll look great and feel confident.
