Would a 40 waist equal that of a 38 waist size? Trying to decide to go up one more for some looseness. And can they be altered down? My waist us between 36 and 40

For our slim suit selection, we make suggestions to go up a size due to how narrow and tapered this cut can be, however this is all to your discretion.

Example: If you are a 38 waist in a regular cut suit, the we recommend going up to at least a 40 waist in our slim fit suit.

I just purchased a wine color suit and pants are to small on waist i need a 42 waist ,can we swap out pants? I would need this overnighted,is it possible
