Holiday Readiness: Suits That Carry You From Office to Celebration
The holiday season is upon us. The most wonderful time of the year, with the most hustle and bustle. It is time to celebrate your loved ones and friends. What better way to do that than with a holiday party! With so much going on, you may not have time to go home and change. When the workday ends, the celebration begins, and you’re expected to look right for both. Luckily for you, the answer isn’t to have two outfits. It’s one great suit and a few extra pieces that make the switch for you.
Here are three outfit examples and how to switch them up!
1. The Navy Suit
The most reliable look in the closet. Clean and professional by day, and super easy to turn into the ultimate evening look.
The Office Look: A Navy suit paired with a White shirt, a Gray tie, and Black oxfords
To jazz it up for a night on the town, we are going to swap out the shirt and tie for a black turtleneck under your jacket. Next, take off the oxfords and put on a nice pair of Black Chelsea boots. This will take the look from workwear to eveningwear. Lastly, you're going to fold in a pocket square in a bold color for one more extra piece of pizazz.
2. The Charcoal Three-Piece
The vest is going to carry this one into the evening. It adds depth, and it keeps the outfit finished even after you take the jacket off.
The Office Look: A Charcoal suit paired with a Light Blue shirt and a Silver tie
To make this an evening look, we are going to change into a bright White shirt and add a vest in a deep contrasting color, like a sultry Burgundy or Black, under the jacket. Next, change your tie to a darker, solid tie. After the party gets started and the jacket comes off, the vest will keep you looking sharp, and the outfit will still feel complete.
3. The Textured Suit
Tweed, flannel, or a subtle pattern in deep earthy tones are classics. It reads warm and polished by day, but gets richer after sundown.
The Office Look: An Olive textured suit paired with a Cream or White shirt and a knitted textured tie
To keep the party going well into the night, we are going to swap your jacket for a smooth velvet blazer. We are going to pair it with a dark shirt, maybe a Black or a rich Chocolate. We are going to lose the tie and throw on a pair of Brown leather boots or loafers. This will finish the look without making it feel too formal.
Whether it’s a Thanksgiving dinner, a Christmas office party, or a New Year’s Eve countdown, you always want to look your best. You can save so much time and stress by knowing how to accessorize intentionally. One suit, with a few well-chosen pieces, and you’re ready to confidently take on your entire day!
